Track Director’s Words:
As most of you know I have been nominated as the new Track Director of Cape Coral BMX. I am excited and looking forward to the challenges ahead. Currently I have three track assistants and they are Todd lackey, Mike Powers and Marc Matthews. I feel very confident with the experience, knowledge and dedication that these three hard charging assistants bring to the table we can turn the track around and make it great for all of our riders and attendees.
One of the most important things at every BMX track that I have been to is the volunteers: without volunteers we would not be in existence for the most part. I want to personally “Thank” all the volunteers at Cape Coral BMX for your time and commitment to our track. If at any point you find yourself wanting to volunteer for anything at the track please let us know. Maintaining the track, collecting money, balancing the books, running concession, maintaining the website and etc is truly a team work effort.
We have been able to soiltac straights 1-2 at this point, granted this was done quickly, we now find ourselves searching for more soiltac in hopes of finishing straights 3-4. We will NOT be rebuilding the track for some period of time and my first priority is to get the track in shape for our upcoming open house. I would like to host a large Pro-Am event on this date. I am currently working with outside sponsors to generate funds to host this event and encourage all local pros to attend. Further details will follow in the upcoming weeks.
As all of you are aware there are currently a lot of changes going on with the dissolve of the NBL. Please have patience as we are currently working with USABMX daily to make the transition as smooth as possible. Please familiarize yourselves with all ABA rules and policies as they will go into effect October 1, 2011. These rules can be found at www.usabmx.com. I have ordered several copies of the rule book and they should arrive any day. We will be enforcing and adhering to the ABA rules on a local level starting on this date also.
I want to wish everyone the best of luck at the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup race and I feel confident that our riders will be the highlight of the race. I, unfortunately, will be out of town and will not be able to attend.
Stay tuned for further updates and changes via email and Facebook!!

Rider of the Month
Luke Matthews, 7 Challenger

At four years old Luke came to visit his Uncle, Chuck Carroll at the track and decided to just try the fourth straight out and just kept going! He hasn't stopped yet.
Luke is in the 1st grade at Providence Chistian School here in Cape Coral. He enjoys playing video games and riding his bike in his free time.
In September, Luke received First Place 7 Challenger on the ABA Championship. He is currently training not only every chance the track is open here at Cape Coral BMX, but three hours a day for the upcoming ABA Disney Cup October 22nd, and ABA Grands in November.
We can't wait to see you there, we know you are going to do great! You are not only an outstanding rider, but truly an inspiration to all the rookies following your footsteps. Good luck Luke, We Are So Proud of You!
New Rider of the Month
Brogan Ziomek 8 Rookie
After watching his neighbors Luke Matthews and Luke Buzzelli ride their bikes, Brogan knew he had to come out to see what all the BMX action was all about. Only being here for two weeks, he is hooked.
Brogan goes to school at Oasis Charter Elementary School and is in the 3rd grade. He enjoys spending time jumping ramps with his buddies in the neighborhood. He also finds time to play Flag Football and Basketball for Cape Coral Parks & Recreation. He has also played soccer, tennis and karate. Brogan is currently trying to recruit his six year old brother Declan into BMX.
With only two races left to Qualify for the Commissioners’ Cup, we can truly see that Brogan is in it to win it. Good Luck Brogan, we are happy you decided to join our Cape Coral BMX Family!
